Patrick G. Ryan

A widely respected entrepreneur and global insurance leader, Patrick G. Ryan formed Ryan Specialty Group, LLC in 2010. RSG is an international holding company specializing in wholesale brokerage, insurance underwriting managers and other specialty services to brokers, agents and insurers. The company has a number of offices in the North America, the UK and Europe. Prior to launching RSG, Mr. Ryan founded Aon Corporation and served as its Chairman and CEO for 41 years. At Mr. Ryan’s retirement, Aon had more than 500 offices in 120 countries, generating revenues then in excess of $7 billion.

Mr. Ryan has received a number of accolades throughout his career. In 1987, Mr. Ryan received the esteemed Horatio Alger Award which honors those who are dedicated to the principles of integrity, hard work, perseverance and compassion for others. In 2008 Mr. Ryan was inducted in to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honorary societies and independent research centers, founded in 1780. Also in 2008, he was elected to the International Insurance Society Hall of Fame and received the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award. He was named by Brigham Young University International Executive of the Year for Corporate Integrity. Other career tributes include Insurance Leader of the Year, College of Insurance, and the Insurance Federation of New York’s Free Enterprise Award. Most recently in July 2019, Mr. Ryan was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame for his contribution to the Finance and Insurance Specialists sector of the automotive industry.

Mr. Ryan has been a member of the Northwestern University’s Board of Trustees for 42 years, 14 years of which he served as Chairman. In 2009, Northwestern awarded Mr. Ryan a Doctor of Humane Letters degree. Also that year, Mr. Ryan was inducted that year into the Northwestern Athletic Hall of Fame. Four years later in 2013, Mr. Ryan received the Northwestern Alumni Association Medal of Honor. This award is the highest award granted by the Northwestern Alumni Association to an alumnus/a who combines superior professional distinction and/or exemplary volunteer service to society, with an outstanding record of service to Northwestern.

Mr. Ryan has received numerous Insurance and Community awards and also served as Chairman of the Chicago 2016 Olympic Bid Committee.

Nick Cortezi

Nick Cortezi is Chairman of RSG Underwriting Managers and is a member of RSG’s Board of Directors.

Nick joined RSG with the merger of All Risks, Ltd. in September 2020. Nick served as CEO of All Risks for over two decades, leading the firm to become the 4th largest wholesale insurance broker in the United States, delivering comprehensive specialty commercial and personal lines solutions to retail agents and brokers nationwide. At the time of the merger, All Risks was on target to handle $2.6 billion in premiums in 2020 and employed over 850 professionals in 27 locations.

Nick joined All Risks in 1987 and was promoted to CEO by 1999. Over the course of his career, he has served on the boards of the Independent Insurance Agents of Baltimore, the Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland, National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, and as President of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (2002-2003).

Nick has lectured and served on panels at numerous industry schools and conferences including the Society for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters, the National Risk Retention Association, the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines offices, Lloyd’s of London and at many regional events.

He has also served on the Board of Directors of Maryland Business for Responsive Government, the Board of Trustees of the Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland, the Board of Trustees of the Bryn Mawr School of Baltimore, Maryland and the Advisory Board of the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies School in Bologna, Italy.

D. Cameron Findlay

D. Cameron Findlay has been a member of the Board since 2012 and currently serves as Chairman of the Organization and Compensation Committee.

Mr. Findlay is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Archer Daniels Midland Company. Mr. Findlay joined ADM in July 2013. Before that, he served from 2009 through 2013 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Medtronic, Inc., the world’s largest medical device manufacturer. Prior to joining Medtronic, he served from 2003 to 2009 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Aon Corporation, the leading global insurance, risk management and human resources firm. He has also practiced law as a partner in the global law firm now known as Sidley Austin LLP.

In addition to his time as a lawyer and businessperson, Findlay has had a distinguished career in government service, including at the White House as deputy assistant to President George H. W. Bush, at the U.S. Department of Labor as the deputy secretary of labor, at the U.S. Supreme Court as a law clerk for Justice Antonin Scalia, and at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit as a law clerk for Judge Stephen F. Williams.

Mr. Findlay serves on the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University, chairs its Audit Committee, and serves on the Executive, Nominations and Educational Properties Committees. He is also a full member of the Council of Foreign Relations in New York and Washington.

Findlay holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, a master’s degree from Oxford University, which he attended as a Marshall Scholar and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

John W. Rogers, Jr.

John W. Rogers, Jr. joined the Board in 2014. Mr. Rogers is Founder, Chairman, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Investments. Throughout his career, Mr. Rogers has been recognized for his investment expertise, including being selected as an All-Star Mutual Fund Manager by USA TODAY and highlighted in the distinguished book The World’s 99 Greatest Investors by Magnus Angenfelt, among other honors.

Mr. Rogers is a board member of McDonald’s, NIKE, The New York Times Company and serves as vice chair of the board of trustees of the University of Chicago. Nationally, John is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a director of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.

In 2008, Mr. Rogers was awarded Princeton University’s highest honor, the Woodrow Wilson Award, presented each year to the alumnus or alumna whose career embodies a commitment to national service. Following the election of President Barack Obama, he served as co-chair for the Presidential Inaugural Committee 2009, and more recently, he joined the Barack Obama Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Timothy W. Turner

Tim Turner is President of Ryan Specialty Group, Chairman & CEO of RT Specialty, Ryan Specialty Group’s (RSG) wholesale brokerage operation, and a member of RSG’s Board of Directors.

Tim has had an extraordinary 30+ year career providing leadership, expertise and service within the insurance industry. Tim joined Ryan Specialty Group in 2010 to create and develop Ryan Turner Specialty. Under Tim’s exceptional strategic leadership, RT Specialty is now one of the top wholesale distributors of specialty insurance in the country and known for its expertise and outstanding client service.

Prior to joining RSG in 2010, Tim was the President of CRC Insurance Services, Inc., one of the largest wholesale insurance brokers in the US at the time. Tim joined the Crump Group in 1990 as a casualty broker, quickly distinguished himself as a leader and was named President of the Chicago Office. Tim began his insurance career as a casualty broker with A.J. Renner & Associates in 1987.

Before joining the insurance industry, Tim graduated from the Detroit Police Academy, served on the Wayne County SWAT Team, and was an undercover narcotics officer with the Narcotics Cocaine Task Force with the Michigan State Police.

Tim has received a number of awards, including being named the 2021 Spirit of Life Honoree by the National Insurance Industry Council and City of Hope. In 2020, the Insurance Insider named Tim the Distribution Leader of the Year, honoring him as the year’s most influential and outstanding individual in insurance distribution. In 2019, Tim received the prestigious Insurance Industry “Good Scout” Award from the Boy Scouts of America, Greater New York Councils.

In 2019, Tim co-founded the Robert J. Turner Foundation, whose mission is to honor courageous police service men and women and to make a lasting impact on the families of fallen officers. A graduate of Madonna University, Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and is a member of the university’s board of trustees.

David P. Bolger

Mr. Bolger has been a member of the Board since 2012 and currently serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Mr. Bolger was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of Chicago 2016, the effort to bring the 2016 Olympic and Paralypmic Games to Chicago. Prior to assuming that role, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aon Corporation, the world’s largest insurance and reinsurance intermediary, a position held since early 2003. Prior to joining Aon, Mr. Bolger worked for 21 years at Bank One Corporation and its predecessor companies, serving in various roles including President of American National Bank & Trust Company of Chicago.

Since 2004, Mr. Bolger has served as a director of MB Financial, Inc., a financial holding company with banking offices located primarily in the Chicago area. Mr. Bolger served as a director of MF Global Holdings, Ltd. from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Bolger serves as a director of the Lincoln Park Zoo, the Chicago History Museum, World Sport Chicago, and Merit School of Music, all non-profit entities based Chicago.

Henry S. Bienen

Henry S. Bienen has been a member of the Board since 2012 and currently serves on the Governance and Compensation Committee. He is the President Emeritus of Northwestern University.

Dr. Bienen is Emeritus Trustee of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and on the Steppenwolf Theatre’s Board of Trustees’ Executive Committee. Additionally, Dr. Bienen is on the Board of Directors of GCM Grosvenor, chairs the Advisory Committee of The Vistria Group’s Education Investments, serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Rasmussen College, and is on the Board of Directors of MetroSquash, an urban squash and education program in Chicago. Furthermore, Dr. Bienen is Chairman the Board of the Crown Center on the Middle East Studies at Brandeis University, serves on the Advisory Board for the Qatar Foundation, a member of the Board of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art and a consultant to Walmart on Opioid issues.

Robert Le Blanc

Robert Le Blanc is President of Onex, overseeing all of Onex’ business units and corporate groups. He also serves as Head of Onex Partners, Onex’ flagship private equity platform.

Prior to joining Onex, Mr. Le Blanc was with Berkshire Hathaway for seven years after starting his career at General Electric. Bobby is a director of PowerSchool Group, Ryan Specialty Group, Parkdean Resorts, Convex, First Berkshire Hathaway Life and DREAM Charter School.

Mr. Le Blanc holds an M.B.A. from New York University and a B.S. from Bucknell University.
